Don't Get Lafufu'd!

Here’s how to get a real Labubu.

P.s. It’s easier to buy through strangers online, we talk about how to do this safely.

Independently Verified. Dolo Verified.

The Thrill of the Hunt for Labubus, the most sought after plushes in the world.

These cute little plushies are all the craze, and getting one seems to be something everyone is talking about. We’ve spent the time researching where to find Labubus so you don’t have to.

Where to buy Labubus:

  1. Top Pick: Direct from Pop Mart: The Gold Standard (Read the pro tips at the end)

  2. Runner-up: Reputable Resellers & Online Communities

  3. Not bad: Resale Stores In-Person

  4. Other mentions: Ebay

Where to buy Labubus

Top Pick: Direct from Pop Mart: The Gold Standard (Read the pro tips at the end)

Why it's the best: Guaranteed authenticity, supporting the official brand.

  1. Where to buy:

    1. Pop Mart App: The best place we found to buy Labubus was the Pop Mart App. There are drops pretty frequently (every few days), and it’s frustrating but possible to get a Labubu! (read tips later in the article)

    2. Official Pop Mart Stores: This is really hit or miss, a lot of Pop Mart stores have huge lines, especially when they have drops. If you can, follow the store on IG and you can get notified when they’re having a sale in store. Expect to line up at least 30 minutes or an hour in advance.

    3. Official Pop Mart Stores on Amazon: You can actually buy them from Pop Mart specifically on Amazon. There’s really no way to time this though, and our recommendation is to just check every now and then and grab it when you see it.

    4. Official Pop Mart Live Streams: Pop Mart does livestreams on TikTok where they sell Labubus. Now there’s a TON of waiting, and then they’ll finally release them without warning. When they do, they’re sold out pretty much instantly. If you have time, this honestly isn’t a bad option, but it’s super frustrating if you're on the live stream for a while and don’t get it. (FYI We recommend following the Pop Mart US and Pop Mart US Local accounts).

  2. TLDR: All of these are great options, BUT they don’t guarantee you get a Labubu and most will take hours. When we bought from the Pop Mart App, it took us a couple hours until we got one. It’s brainless activity, but it requires your attention. This is why other options that we’ll explore are honestly really attractive. Why spend hours on the app?

Runner-up: Reputable Resellers & Online Communities

Why it might be the easiest: Reputable resellers already have the item in hand, and can ship it to you the same day. The hard part is figuring out who is safe to buy from, that’s where we come in. You will also be paying a premium.

  1. Where to buy:

    1. Facebook Groups: There are a TON of Facebook groups for Labubu resale out there. You’ll want to vet the group pretty thoroughly. Private groups are usually the best, and take a look at the admins of the group. There’s a chance the whole group is full of scammers, and so Dolo is going to vet groups individually and let you know which ones are best. We have more tips later in this article! L.P.M. Houston, TX (Buy/Sell/Trade) is one of the groups we’d recommend.

    2. Reddit Threads + Discord Groups Similar to Facebook, it’s a bit of a blackhole. There are great sellers on there, but you do have to dig through the weeds.

    3. Facebook Marketplace: Buying locally is a good option, but it’s still not guaranteed. A lot of people have Lafufus without realizing it, and so we’ll give tips later in this article about how to avoid Lafufus.

  2. TLDR: This is by far the easiest way to get Labubus, but is FLOODED with Lafufus and scammers. If you can navigate it successfully, it is the best. Read on to learn about our pro tips.

Not bad: Resale Stores In-Person

Why it’s not bad: You can go in-store and see the item, you can also authenticate the item yourself (detailed later in the article). FYI - We don’t recommend buying from any mall stand that has a lot, they’re almost always fake.

  1. Where to buy:

    1. Resale stores in person: There are stores that specialize in collectibles like Pokemon cards, or other plushes. These stores generally have a limited supply of Labubu’s for a premium. These can be a GREAT option if you’re in a rush and need a Labubu ASAP for a friend or daughter’s birthday. Expect to pay 2-3x retail. ALWAYS authenticate the item yourself, do not trust the store as they might’ve unwillingly bought a good Lafufu. More on this later.

  2. TLDR: This is usually a good option, but is still prone to fakes. We’ve seen people buying from countless mall stands that claim they have real Labubus, unfortunately, these aren’t real.

Other Mentions: Ebay

Why we put it here: When we looked up Labubu listings on Ebay, the whole first page (and sponsored listings) were Lafufus. They had sold 100s of Lafufus and a lot of people have fallen for the scam.

  • If you do buy here, make SURE to vet the seller. Ideally they have reviews that claim they have bought a Labubu from them. Make sure they can provide proof of authenticity. Do NOT buy from a place that sells 10+ Labubus, this is a red flag as most people don’t have that many.

Pro Tips for Success

How to Verify Your Labubu

  1. Scan via the Pop Mart App/Official Website:

    1. Find the QR code (usually on a scratch-off sticker on the box, inside the blind bag, or on a tag on the figure itself). Scan it with your phone's camera. It should redirect you to Pop Mart's official anti-counterfeiting website. On this page, you'll be prompted to enter the last 4 digits revealed by scratching off the sticker. The official site will confirm authenticity and, crucially, tell you if it's a 'First-time inquiry.' If it says 'already verified multiple times' for an unopened box, that's a major red flag as the code may have been copied and used for fakes. Be wary of any codes that lead to different URLs or look-alike sites.

  2. Sanity check the item itself

    1. Labubus should have 9 teeth, recent editions (2024 and later) have a UV stamp on the right foot.

    2. Authentic ones have the Pop Mart logo on the left foot.

    3. Packaging: Matte finish, crisp printing, correct logos, non-glossy inner bag, rounded arrow on trash can symbol (back of box).

    4. Figure: Pale, peachy face color (not vibrant/shiny), glossy eyes, soft blush (not harsh), clean paint lines, quality feel/weight.

    5. Material Quality: For plush, soft fur, seamless stitching.

TLDR: QR Codes aren’t fool-proof. The best case is you buy from Pop Mart or a verified seller who has proof of purchase. We’ll have a longer article about more tips to verify your Labubu.

What to know, buying from a reseller

  1. Always ask where they bought it from

    1. Proof of Origin: This is HUGE. Demand photos of original receipts, order confirmations from Pop Mart, or unboxing videos showing the official packaging.

  2. Ask for reviews if buying from online communities

    1. Check reviews, "vouch" posts, and activity within the community.

  3. "Proof of Life" (POL)

    1. Seller takes a photo of the item with their username and current date.

  4. Ask for their Dolo Profile

    1. Dolo is relatively new, but in these profiles you can see if they’ve verified themselves via Government ID, if they have reviews or people who vouch for them.

    2. In the future, we’ll have a list of vetted sellers and groups that we recommend.

TLDR: Finding a good, reputable reseller is AMAZING. Once you do, you can always find what you’re looking for and you know you’re getting the legit item.

Pro Tips from a Pro Collector

How to buy on PopMart App

Source: Aaliyah Dumas

  1. Clear Your Cache Before Every Drop

  • Always clear your app cache before each drop.

  • Make sure your account is able to purchase what you want, and that you haven’t gone over the 6-per-product limit.

  • Pop Mart sometimes locks logins during drops — sign in early and double-check your saved address and info.

  • Use PayPal for a faster checkout experience. (If you don’t have one, make one.

2. Prep for Pop Now Drops

  • Open the product page before the drop — PopMart always crashes during go-time.

  • Be on a strong network (boost WiFi or switch to cellular if needed).

  • You can either monitor old sets or try for new flash drops.

🧠 Old Sets Strategy

  • Move slower — older sets rotate backward and aren’t as monitored.

  • You’ll start seeing stuff like “3 boxes reserved” instead of “6 reserved” — that’s your signal you’re in an older set.

  • Stay on one box for a bit, wait for countdowns, then move forward.

  • People get frustrated 10+ mins in and stop trying — those are your best chances to grab leftover boxes.

💡 Pro Tip: If you do grab one while monitoring, always check your set to see if more boxes become available (less chance of dupes!).

⚡ New Flash Drop Strategy

  • Use the “Forward 5, Back 2” method.

  • Position your finger ahead of time — single box is easier than full sets.

  • Don’t click too fast — pace yourself through the maze.

Think of it like this: 5 rotating sets, and one new set is dropped for 100 people. Find a slow rhythm (like every 3 seconds), and move semi-slow to see more available boxes.

3. Bonus Tips

  • Typa Discord is a huge help — they’re always on top of it.

  • Always try to get at least 2 to make shipping worth it.

  • It’s not some “hidden secret,” just practice and patience.
