FAQs

  • Dolo is similar to a LinkedIn - but for online buyers and sellers. Users create profiles, review and vouch for others, and build their online persona. Users can link these profiles in their posts, when buying or selling, to prove their credibility.

Over time, we believe that these profiles will help weed out scammers and remove the “stranger danger” from the equation, ultimately building a safer buying and selling community for everyone.

  • For a seller to earn the trusted seller badge, they must have 5 verified positive seller reviews without any negative reviews.

  • 1. When posting something for sale, just include a link to your Dolo profile. Others will be able to see your reviews and/or vouches, proving your credibility.

    2. After a transaction, review the person you transacted with.

If done correctly, we can create a much safer and scammer-free community for everyone.

  • Dolo has both a free and paid option!
Being able to create your own verified/credible profile will always be free. Our goal is that we can create a future where everyone can feel safe when transacting online. The free version should work for everyone!

The paid option is for sellers or those who want premium features. Check out more here! https://www.doloreview.com/pricing

  • The paid versions are for people who sell more frequently. They include things like: Customizable Dolo links, Linked Accounts (like Etsy, eBay), Seller Text Lists (send notifications to your followers), and more!

  • Reviewing: People can review other users who have profiles. When writing a review, you’ll be prompted to rate the transaction, write a review, and then upload a receipt of the transaction for verification purposes.

Reviews from External Platforms: We also gather reviews from external platforms, which can be featured on your profile. We can pull from sources like the Plant BST Review group, Ebay or Etsy.

Manually Uploading Reviews: Users can also upload reviews they’ve received from their buyers as long as they upload proof of transaction and of the review itself.

Vouching: Users can write a write a vouch for other users that they trust.

  • We require users to upload a receipt of their transaction (i.e. proof of purchase) when writing a review, and we also verify and approve each review before allowing it to be published.

For negative reviews, we require users to submit screenshots of the entire communication and interaction with the other individual. We make it very clear that we have a zero-tolerance policy for fake reviews, and we’ll actively be monitoring for fraudsters.

For external reviews, we rely on their review security mechanisms. For Etsy and Ebay, for example, we rely on them to verify the transaction took place.

  • Yes, we allow negative reviews! Although we think the majority of reviews are typically positive, we believe that negative reviews are a normal part of buying and selling. If a user is generally good, then their average ratings won't go down too much (i.e. if a user has nine 5-star reviews and one 1-star review, then their average rating is 4.6 stars).

  • A “trusted” seller is someone who we’ve identified deemed as a top seller within the community. This individual is someone who has proven time and time again to be someone worthy of our trust. We give this badge to sellers based on metrics like selling history, number of successful transactions, positive reviews, vouches, and more.

  • Privacy is our #1 priority, and we absolutely do not sell data to third parties. We do not make users’ personal information (including but not limited to phone numbers, addresses, and emails) available to the public.

  • We think both are great! However, we like reviewing on Dolo as it allows the seller to build credibility in a profile they can use everywhere. It provides a single source that others can look at vs multiple groups to comb through.
